The free smoking area audit

An expert visits your site, maps your smoking areas, measures the hotspots (cigarette butts on the ground, neighbourhood complaints, EU SUP Directive shortfalls), and delivers a costed action plan within 5 days. Free, no commitment, across continental Europe.

Why an audit before pricing?

Because you can't size a cigarette butt service from a desk. The exact number of ashtrays, their placement, the collection frequency, the right hardware — all of it depends on the real configuration of your site: pedestrian flows, neighbourhood, exposure, technical constraints. The on-site audit is exactly what bridges intuition and a costed, defensible action plan.

How it works

The audit process, step by step

Four marked-out steps, from first conversation to report delivery. All without any commitment on your side: if the pricing doesn't suit you, you keep the report and forget about us.

  1. 01

    Preparatory phone call (15 min)

An expert calls you to understand your context: type of establishment, expected number of smoking areas, perceived issues (butts on the ground, neighbourhood complaints, EU compliance...). Together we agree on a slot for the on-site visit.

  2. 02

    On-site visit (1 to 2 hours)

The expert visits the site, walks through your smoking areas with you, takes measurements, photographs the improvement points, identifies technical constraints (floor anchoring, signage, logistics access). You show them your constraints, they steer you towards compatible solutions.

  3. 03

Written report delivered within 5 business days

You receive a PDF document of around ten pages: mapping of areas, captioned photos, recommendation of models and quantities, two or three costed scenarios (minimum, standard, premium). All defensible, ready to forward to your management or CSR committee.

  4. 04

    Free decision, no pressure

If the report suits you, we kick off the service rollout. If it isn't the right moment, or if you want to compare with other providers, no sales follow-up. You keep the report, you come back when you want. That is what real "free" looks like.

"We had been hesitating for 2 years. The free audit is exactly what unlocked the topic internally — I finally had a costed document to present to the executive committee. We signed 6 weeks later."

What you receive

Typical contents of the audit report

1. Mapping of the real smoking areas — Not only those you've identified, but also the "wild zones" that pop up elsewhere on the site (in front of the supplier entrance, behind the building, on the cafeteria terrace) that generate the real hotspots.

2. Costed findings — Estimated number of cigarette butts on the ground in critical areas, fire risk level based on configuration, current EU compliance status, gap versus Ecovadis / ISO 14001 / CSRD requirements if relevant.

3. Hardware recommendation — Which ashtray model for which area, in what quantities, with which options (colour, fixing, signage). If you already have hardware in place, we say honestly whether it can stay or needs replacing.

4. Two or three costed scenarios — A "tight budget" scenario that covers the essentials, a "standard" scenario that solves 80% of the problem, a "premium" scenario for high-demand sites (headquarters, VIP reception, Ecovadis Platinum certifications). You choose internally with full information.

5. Operational roadmap — Rollout steps, lead times, points of contact at Easy to Change, validation of placements, signage, employee awareness. The report answers the question: "concretely, what do I do Monday morning?"

Frequently asked questions

Your questions on the audit

Is the audit really 100% free?

Yes. No hidden fees, no minimum order to honour afterwards, no buried terms and conditions. The audit is a commercial investment on our side — we bet that once you have the report in hand, you'll find the offer coherent. If you don't, you keep the report and that's it.

How quickly can I have the audit?

The preparatory phone call is scheduled within 48h. The on-site visit is then planned according to your availability (typically within 10 to 15 days). The written report arrives 5 business days after the visit. In total: count 3 to 4 weeks between your initial request and receiving the report.

For a multi-site group, how does it work?

We start with a pilot audit on a representative reference site, with a full report. On other sites, we can either replicate the approach (full audit) or run a lighter diagnostic based on photos and floor plans depending on your needs. For groups with more than 10 sites, we adapt the method to stay realistic in time.

Can the report be used for a tender process?

Yes, absolutely. Many of our audits serve to formalise an internal specification or feed a tender. The report describes the technical need, on-site constraints and scope, which allows you to put several providers in competition on solid bases. You are not obliged to retain Easy to Change in the end.

What if I'm not sure I really have a cigarette butt problem?

That's exactly what the audit is for. Several of our reports conclude the need is minimal (1 or 2 ashtrays to add, no recurring service). We'd rather tell you "you don't need us" than sell you an oversized service. That's what makes our clients come back when a real need emerges.
